Why All the Super Heros?
Submitted by knoxout on Thu, 2007-05-03 17:55. Colaborative AnswersWhat is the reason super heroes are so popular? The population appears to love seeing movies that involve heroes saving lives and the world (X-Men, Spiderman, Superman, etc). So why is it that the media seems to only deliver stories of terror? Everyday there are people fighting for the rights of others, saving lives, or even doing whatever they can to improve the comfort of living for those struggling. Why are these 'heroes' not put on center stage? When the public sees these 'heroes' would it be possible that it would become contagious, eventually causing more to arise?
NOREX Photos
Submitted by knoxout on Sun, 2007-03-04 11:08. Norwegian Exchange | Norwegian ExchangeFor all of you that are wanting to get photos. I am working on getting the site setup to upload entire folders. Otherwise it is currently requiring that there be an 8 MB maximum/upload... That simply will not do (Pesta could pull it off though (abera-cadabera)) I will be trying to get this fixed ASAP. If you would like me to add you to the notification mailing list, send me a message. 2nd Platoon will already be on that. Thank you for your patience.

Last Day in the Field
Submitted by knoxout on Wed, 2007-02-21 05:16. Norwegian ExchangeIt's the last full day in the basecamp. It was a very start for the day, waking up to negative four degrees celcius, and a nice warm fire right outside the lean-too. We kept the fire going all through the night (only costing me 30 minutes) which was very nice. We had nine of us cramed into an eight person lean-too making it much warmer as well. Since my finger has gotten sliced pretty bad and started to get infected, it was put into a splint to avoid opening the wound anymore.
I miss out on the squad ski competition from that, but followed along as well as possible by foot (sinking in the snow up to my knees every step...). Instead I got many photos for them. The ski competition was very creative. There were a few different stations. First off was the egg toss (the more surviving eggs equalled time removed from the clock), followed by a target distance gauging exercise. One of the stations a squad member was picked at random to be the 'wounded member' and had to ride in the polk for the remainer of the race. Finally there was a puzzle at the last station where the squad had to figure out how to make the shape face the other direction by only moving three sticks (mainly to make sure we are still thinking under such cold situations).
Still Alive
Submitted by knoxout on Sat, 2007-02-17 12:41. Norwegian ExchangeI am still alive, haven't been able to update in a few days, but don't worry about me. I have been keeping mental notes and will sit down with my team and write down more to back-log. We will be going out into the field tomorrow. So it will be a few days until I am back. We are all VERY excited! I have witnessed a bit of stress (quite regular in a group of strangers working together for the first time), but we will work it out. I have found a bit of home sickness yesterday and today. That will work itself out as well, but for all of you I see on a regular basis... I MISS YOU ALL!!! I have gotten many photos and will upload to the server in a few days.
We're All in Norway!!!
Submitted by knoxout on Wed, 2007-02-14 09:38. Norwegian ExchangeWe've arrived! We're all safe! It was a long airplane ride with two refueling stops. One in Canada and the other in Iceland. I do not have time to post photos tonight, but will soon. We got plenty to eat on the plane (maybe too much), with our meal after every take-off. The tour of the base was entertaining as we were all dozing off. The day is not over just yet since a group photo in Class A's is coming up in a few minutes. I must be heading out, but will write more tonight (pending enough time).
How's it Going?
Submitted by knoxout on Fri, 2007-02-09 11:41. Colaborative AnswersEvery day I hear "how's it going?" or "how are you today?" The question up front is, do they really want to know? Is it an on going question that is looking to be lied about? The typical answer is "good," "okay," "great," but is it just a common response created by social tradition? or maybe just a way to avoid the question. Next up, does it make a difference in someone's day? If they ask you the question in question, and your answer is of a positive notion, will their mood possibly be improved? Majority seem to feel uplifted by the presence of positive thinkers. Simultaneously brought down if they appear to be fraudulent.
Getting Ready to Go!
Submitted by knoxout on Tue, 2007-02-06 13:36. Norwegian ExchangeAs the trip edges closer, I'm finding myself getting VERY excited! I'm gonna actually be sleeping in a snow cave! This will definitely be something to remember. I haven't gotten my bags packed yet, but should do so tonight. Don't think I'll be able to get any photos while I'm in Norway. Maybe someone might loan me their camera... If I do get photos I will try to post them. Hope you enjoy hearing about my adventures.

What is YOUR meaning of life?
Submitted by knoxout on Tue, 2006-10-24 18:31. Colaborative AnswersI'm not talking about some Ms. America answer about saving the duck-billed platypus or world peace (I apologize to any duck-billed enthusiasts), rather your individual goals, ambitions, and reasons life is worth living.
Up and Running
Submitted by knoxout on Thu, 2006-06-29 08:27.Welcome to once again, the new KnoxOut.com. Anybody who's been following the constant changes over the past couple years will know that I'm either never satisfied or that I'm trying to learn new stuff by expirimenting on my own personal website. Who's to know how long this one will stick around, but hey, that's what I do. Feel free to look around, and let me know if you find any issues. Maybe I'll be ready to actually make sites as a business within' the next couple months. If you are interested, feel free to let me know. Have a nice day!
